Why does Huangshan produce good tea?
Light is the primary condition for the survival of tea trees. Tea trees have special requirements for ultraviolet rays. The sunlight cannot be too strong or too weak.
Huangshan has good soil quality, warm and humid, high humidity, and foggy. There are more than 200 days of cloud and fog in a year. The light is blocked by the mist, which strengthens the red and yellow light so that the content of amino acids, aromatic substances, and water in the shoots and leaves is significantly increased, and the new nodes of the tea tree can be kept fresh for a long time and not easy to grow old. It is very beneficial to improve tea leaves’ color, aroma, taste, and tenderness. Therefore, Huangshan has produced many good teas since ancient times.
When was Huangshan Maofeng listed?
There is a tea proverb in the Huangshan area: “tea before summer, grass after summer.” Huangshan Maofeng generally only picks spring tea; summer tea and autumn tea are not picked. Spring tea is usually decided before and after Qingming and Grain Rain until the end of Lixia. Spring tea before and after Qingming has fresh leaves, and it is not easy to suffer from pests and diseases, so the quality is better.

How to identify fake Huangshan Maofeng?

What is the difference between the premium Huangshan Maofeng and other Maofeng?
The super-grade Huangshan Maofeng is the best among the Maofeng in my country. Its shape is like a tongue, uniform and muscular; the peak is exposed, the color is ivory, and the fish leaves are golden.
“Ivory color” and “golden fish leaves” are its distinguishing features from other Maofeng. Fish leaf refers to the tiny leaf that spends winter under one bud and one leaf, commonly known as “tea bamboo shoots” or “gold pieces”; ivory refers to its color that looks “dull, yellow and white.” There’s also a little green” effect.
